Age Requirement for Enrollment:

Any person 18 years of age or older is eligible for enrollment. Those under 18 must have administrative approval or be registered as a concurrent secondary high school student with written permission from a parent/guardian and the home school.

Enrollment:

Students must attend the first class meeting to confirm enrollment. Under the continuous enrollment policy, vacancies at the first class meeting may be immediately filled from the waiting list.

Students may enroll in classes during the class term as space is available. Registration is on a first-come-first-served basis.

Registration for English as a Second Language/Citizenship Classes: Room 126

Registration for Distance Learning (CD/DVD English): Room 127A

Registration for Career Technical Education (CTE) and all high school classes: Room 102

Closing of Classes:

The Evans Administration reserves the right to close a class if there is insufficient funding provided by the State of California, if an insufficient number of students are enrolled, or if the average attendance falls below the minimum set by the Los Angeles Unified School District Board of Education.

Cafeteria:

Cafeteria food service is provided during regular school hours Monday through Friday. Check with the Cafeteria staff for specific hours.

Refund Policy:

Upon request a student may be issued a refund of fees when he or she drops the class before the first day of attendance or within seven (7) calendar days following the first day of possible attendance. However, a $20.00 drop fee will be assessed on a per course basis, except when an administrator has closed the class during the initial enrollment period.

The student MUST PRESENT THE BLUE REGISTRATION RECEIPT when requesting a refund. No refunds will be issued without it.

School Policies:

District policy explicitly prohibits sexual harassment of any kind. Smoking or tobacco use of any kind on school grounds is prohibited by law.

Non-Smoking Campus:

All campuses of the Los Angeles Unified School District have been declared non-smoking facilities by the Board of Education.

Uniform Complaint Procedure:

Every member of the community has the right to prompt and orderly redress of a grievance related to an alleged violation of federal and state laws or regulations of education program. Pursuant to California Code or Regulation, Title 5, Section 4600, LAUSD has developed procedures to process a complaint regarding education services provided by the adult school. A copy of the uniform complaint policy is available at each site where adult education is offered.
